South West Cape, New Zealand

From Open Encyclopedia

Image:NZStewardIslandAreaMap.png South West Cape, located at 47°17′24″S, 167°32′16″E, is a cape on the south coast of Stewart Island, New Zealand. It is the southernmost point on the island, and as such is almost the southernmost point on the main chain of islands that make up New Zealand, beaten to that honour by the tiny Murphy Island, which lies some three kilometres to the west and some 100m further south.

This is still not the southernmost point in the country, however — that title goes to Jacquemart Island in the sub-antarctic Campbell Island group.
