Siege of Rhodes (305 BC/304 BC) is one of the most famous sieges in ancient history.

Demetrius, son of Antigonus I, besiege Rhodes in an attempt to break their alliance with Egypt. Citizens of Rhodes was successful in resistance to Demetrius. After a one year, he abandon the siege and signed a peace agreement in 304 BC.

Several years later Rhodians sold the equipment, given by Demetrius, and used the money to erect a statue of their sun god, Helios, the statue now known as the Colossus of Rhodes, to commemorated they heroic resistance.
