From Open Encyclopedia
Mohali is a city just next to Chandigarh, in Punjab, India.
The official name of Mohali is Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (SAS Nagar) and it is named after the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh.
Mohali is home to the newest and most lavish cricketing ground in India. The [[Punjab Cricket Association] (PCA) uses this ground as its headquarters. Due to disagreements between ground staff and the BCCI this ground is underutilized despite its obvious success at hosting matches.
Most of the Punjab-based national cricketers made debuts in Mohali, including Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Mongia, and Gagandeep Singh.
It also serves as a home for many punjabi singers like Harbhajan Mann, late Surjit Bindrakhia, and many more.
Infosys, the well-known Indian IT services major, and global giants like Dell and Quark have development centres in Mohali. A huge IT development, QuarkCity, has come up.
Also there are plans of an upcoming film city being developed in the area.
