Kadru

From Open Encyclopedia

In the mythology of India, Kadru (Kadrū in IAST notation), is usually the daughter of Daksha, wife of Kasyapa, and the mother of the Nagas. This is according to the Mahabharata (Adi Parva).

In some accounts, derived from the Ramayana, she is however the daughter of Kasyapa and Krodhavaśā, who is another daughter of Daksha. Thus she may alternatively considered to be the grand-daughter of Daksha.
